All our Oz Beeswax products are 100% natural with not added preservatives or chemicals.  If you would like to add a bit more chemical and preservative free treatments to your beauty routine we have some ideas for your.  These treatments can be made from ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen and only require one or two ingredients and are simple to make.

Eye Treatment With Turmeric and Pineapple Juice

If you have some dark circles under your eyes, here is an alternate treatment to the classic cucumber or tea bag remedy. Simply mix some turmeric powder with some pineapple juice to create a thick paste. Apply the past to your under eye circles and leave for 10 minutes before removing with a damp cloth.  You can use this treatment once a day.

Cleaning Your Teeth With Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has come a long way in the last few years. And one of its many health and beauty uses is teeth cleaning.  Coconut oil has a lot going for it apart from being antibacterial it is also antimicrobial and antifungal. Studies show that coconut oil can destroy bacteria that causes tooth decay.  You can either add coconut oil to your toothbrush or mouth and brush as you normally would, or you can try coconut oil pulling.   This is where you put 1 tablespoon of coconut oil in your mouth and swish it around in your mouth for 10-20 minutes before discarding in the trash (oil can clog up your drain pipes and you do not want to swallow all the bacteria you just removed from your teeth).

Lip Treatment With Honey And Sugar

If your lips are in need of a treatment simply mix one tablespoon of white sugar with one tablespoon of honey and combined well.  Scrub the mixture on your lips with your finger for about 3-4 minutes and then rinse off.  The sugar can help to remove the dead skin while the honey helps rehydrate your lips and make them smooth.

Also regularly applying a lip balm can help prevent chapped lips, we now have our Manuka Skin Magic in a handy chapstick container, which is perfect to take everywhere with you, you can get it here, or if you prefer our 20g container you can add that to your order here.

Vinegar Hair Treatment

Using vinegar on your hair is a great way to restore your hair's ph balance, remove scalp build up and add shine. Vinegar has been used since your grandmother day, you can mix regular vinegar or apple cider vinegar in with your shampoo as you wash your hair or you can use it separately as a rinse.  As a rinse dilute 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water and apply to your clean hair and let sit for a few minutes before washing out.  Use one to twice a week.

Face Mask With Cabbage And Milk

You can use cabbage as a face mask.  Cabbage has a wide range of nutrients like vitamin A, C and E as well as potassium and sulfur which has a cleansing and nourishing effect on the skin.  Simply bring one cup of whole fat milk to the boil with a few cabbage leaves until the mixture becomes a porridge like consistency.  Let the liquid cool and then strain out the liquid.  You can then apply this liquid to your face and leave on for 20 minutes before washing off with warm water.
