Skincare tends to get placed into the “beauty” category which can give the impression that is a topic just for women. Because of this men can tend to neglect their skin.
Our skin just happens to be our largest organ and works constantly to protect us from microbes and the elements. The skin acts as an external barrier to bacteria, preventing infection and protecting our internal organs. It also helps us to regulate our body temperature and permits the sensations of touch, heat and cold.
There are differences between men and womens facial skin. You may think that men’s facial skin is more resilient than women’s and therefore you don’t really need to use facial skin care products, but unfortunately this is not the whole truth.
Pores
When it comes to facial skin, men have more active sebaceous glands and bigger pores. The larger pores means more oil can exit onto the skin making the skin oilier and shinier.
Ageing
Signs of aging appear later in men, then they do women. But when they come in they come in quickly and more fully formed. You don’t want to wait for your facial skin to start to show the signs of aging, you want to take preventative action by nourishing your facial skin on a regular basis.
Shaving
Shaving removes the upper layer of skin cells which exposes the new layer of skin (which is more sensitive) to external factors. It also dehydrates your skin. You can use Oz Beeswax 100% natural skin moisturiser as an after shave to rehydrate and moisturise your skin. The beeswax helps to prevent bacteria from infecting the newly shaved skin and it leaves it looking and feeling soft.
The bottom line is that it is vital for men to take care of their facial skin if they want it to be healthy and look its best. You need to look after your facial skin and give it the same care and attention you do for your hair and teeth, even your digestive system. Poor skincare habits can lead to acne, sores, rashes, and wrinkles. These issues affect a person's appearance and how in turn how they feel about their appearance.
Oz Beeswax skincare products have a real and noticeable impact. They protect the skin, they boost blood circulation, and they are loaded with active ingredients, vitamins, and oils that nourish the skin. Well-nourished skin is healthy skin.
Simple 3 Step Routine With Oz Beeswax Skin Moisturiser
If you’re a minimalist with your grooming products, or having a skin care regime is not something you are used to doing, then we have this simple 3 step process to get you started. Our 100% natural skin moisturiser is the perfect place to start, especially if you don’t like the heavy feeling moisturisers can feel on your face. Our skin moisturiser feels light and won’t clog your pores allowing your skin to breath.
Step 1 Cleanse
A Cleanser is a product that you wash your face with that cleans or removes dirt or other substances. Basically cleansing helps remove the build up of dirt, grime and excess oils which can lead to breakouts and premature ageing. You can wash your face with a cleanser in the shower or over the bathroom sink. Warm water will open your pores and allow for a deeper clean. Simply apply a pea sized amount of a gentle cleanser to your face and lather in a circular motion for 30 seconds before rinsing. Its best to cleanse twice a day, once in the morning and then again at night before bed.
Step 2 Hydrate
Once the skin is cleansed, it’s time to hydrate and protect your face. Our skin moisturiser delivers soothing vitamins and nutrients to the skin, while also creating a barrier on your skin by giving a natural waxy coating to it. Therefore protecting your skin from harmful environments without clogging your pores. It will also prevent dry, flaky skin during the cooler months. To apply, simple use just enough to create a thin layer over your entire face (and down your neck, too). You can repeat again after your nightly cleanse to maximise hydration while your body’s cells regenerate.
Step 3. Protect
If you are spending any time outside you need to protect your skin with sunscreen. Using a daily SPF50+ is essential to shield our skin from harmful UV rays that cause pigmentation, sunburn, wrinkles and even cancer. Once the moisturiser has been, applied you can add a layer of sunscreen over the top before heading outside for the day. Don’t forget to reapply frequently throughout the day.
