World Bee Day 2021
Let's all wear yellow on World Bee Day May 20th 2021 as we celebrates the essential role bees and other pollinators play in keeping people and the planet healthy.
Approximately three quarters of our food diversity is pollinated to some degree by bees, and about one in every three mouthfuls of food we eat is pollinated by bees.
Pollinator dependent crops affect 35% of global agricultural land and support the production of 87 of the world’s leading food crops.
Put simply - bees are essential to our lives.
We want to do our bit to raise awareness about the work bees do to feed us and keep us healthy. World Bee Day is a great day to remember that we all need to help protect and enhance pollinators and their habitats, improve their abundance and diversity and support the sustainable development of beekeeping.
We love the bees - and we need to help them stay well and healthy. Plant the right flora, and don't use pesticides where bees are trying to survive. Oh - and wear yellow on Thursday.
